Leeds Oral Microbiome Lab

We are based in the Dental School at the University of Leeds, where we study how microbes in your mouth affect health and disease. Our research brings together microbiology, cell biology and bioinformatics. We look at how oral microbial communities behave and how they interact with host cells. This helps us find better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat disease.

Our Mission

We aim to understand the oral microbiome and biofilm biology. We study how microbes and host cells communicate and adapt. Our work supports better care for patients and helps shape new clinical and scientific approaches.
